I’ve been wanting to start on these forever, and I finally got the time to work on them last night. We were up pretty late hanging out with the guys, and it was just the perfect opportunity to get work done on them. I’m so excited to finish these. Again, this is just the underpainting with loose structural color blocking, but eventually, I’ll add on oil paint and everything! I have a lot more to do for the underpainting on the third one, and there’s a whole fourth one which will feature Tobias post hair transplant surgery in his ridiculous paisley shirt. I can’t wait to do the gory hair plugs for that one. 

These count as a voluntary piece that I’ll be making prints from at some point. I really need to finish my two large couple pieces and my self portraits, but those all require time in my studio, and I’ve really been enjoying hanging out in our “man room” and painting while our friends have been over. Even when it’s just Billy and me, it’s nice to sit in there with him and watch Netflix or whatever. Then while he’s at work during the week, I’m super happy to have the solitude and peace of my little studio. Oil is just too messy to use anywhere else.
